Dear Moses,
You continue to light up my life. You're such a joy to be around! You always have a smile and a snuggle for me. You love to hang around me all day and follow me around the house, unless daddy is home. Then you'd rather be by him. You're a daddy's boy through and through. You love to walk around the house yelling "Dada!" even when he's not home. It's like you're thinking about him and missing him.
You still don't talk much, although you have added a few new words to your vocabulary the past week or two. You can now say "bubble," "cheese," and "night night." You do this funny thing where you get right up in people's faces and talk gibberish to them very intently, with lots of big gestures and facial expressions. You try to hard to get your point across but it's hilarious because it makes no sense whatsoever. You have lots to say but just can't quite get it to come out right!
I'm happy to report that you're still nursing really well. I still nurse you three times a day- when you wake up, before your nap, and at bedtime. You still seem really interested. Just this morning you took me up to your room, patted the rocking chair, and brought me the nursing pillow. This makes me so happy! I know I want to nurse you at least until you're two and maybe longer, just depending on how things go. We'll just have to play it by ear.
You're kind of high maintenance in the sense that you don't play by yourself very well and want me to entertain you a lot. You'll rarely go down to the playroom by yourself or play with the toys in the basket in the family room. You usually just want to be causing trouble wherever I am. When I'm getting ready for the day, you like to be up on the bathroom counter opening jars or beauty products, filling the q-tip container with water, and using all of my makeup. You also like to dump out the bin of baby bottles that's in my closet and push the iron around. The bathroom is always such a disaster by the time I'm done getting ready!
You love to play outside but it's been so cold and snowy here that you don't get to do it very often. I can't wait for spring when the snow melts and the sun comes out so you can explore the world around you! I really, really hate living in Northern Utah in the winter. The weather really bums me out.
You've been skipping your nap every few days lately, which is really freaking me out. I feel like it's been harder and harder to get you down because you don't want to miss out on the fun that your big brothers are having. It's like you're starting to realize that going into your room by yourself to sleep is a bummer when no one else has to do that! I hope I can keep the naps going for at least another year because you really need them! That big head of yours needs the rest!
Moses, I'm so happy you're in our family! You make us all laugh and feel all the feels. You're such a good little boy and even though I'm sad that you're getting older, I can't wait to see who you become. Thanks for letting me be your mama and take care of you.
