In 2010...

We rang in the New Year with our D.C. family.

We found out that we were having a baby boy.

With the baby on the way and the pressure mounting, Adam sent out a ton of resumes in hopes of finding a job.

It snowed and snowed and snowed and snowed. Like 24 inches. I got an entire (paid!) week off of work because of it. Suh-sweet!!!

Adam successfully pulled of writing the problem for and running the National Religious Freedom Moot Court Competition (despite Snowmaggedon).

Our car was broken into and our GPS was stolen during the night.

We celebrated Adam turning 28 with some Chinese food and homemade birthday cake.

Adam ran a 10K in Richmond, VA but I missed seeing him come across the finish line because I couldn't find him in the massive crowd. He was sad.

We rode our bikes to the Cherry Blossom Festival at sunrise again. See our first and second years too!

We played a silly April Fool's joke that WAY too many gullible people believed.

I went home to Utah for a visit.

Adam graduated from The George Washington University Law School. Both of our parents came to D.C. for the happy occasion.

His graduation ceremony was on the National Mall (the only school in the country that gets to graduate there). The First Lady was the commencement speaker.

We had a graduation picnic to celebrate.

Adam studied for the Utah Bar exam.

While I got very pregnant.

And very swollen.

After 40 weeks and 5 days of waiting, we finally got to meet our baby boy, Eli Paul. He was perfect.

We watched the 4th of July fireworks from the roof of our building.

After living in Washington D.C. for 3 wonderful years, we reluctantly left and moved to Utah.

Adam drove the Uhaul and towed our car 2,317 miles from Arlington, VA to St. George, UT in just 2 days. We moved into my parent's basement.

Eli and I flew while Adam drove. He was a perfect angel and slept on my chest during the whole flight.

Adam blessed Eli. A lot of family and close friends attended.

After month of stress, job searching, and prayer, Adam got a job as an attorney at Gallian Wilcox.

Eli got a nasty kidney infection that landed him in the hospital for a few days. We are so glad that we caught it before it got worse. Thankfully, he recovered quickly and was back to his normal self soon.

We went to Lake Powell with my family.

Adam passed the Utah Bar (phew!) and was sworn in.

In an effort to get our booties back into shape, Adam and I ran a 5K.

We got to celebrate Christmas with my whole family! It was a blast being all together.

2010 was a big year for us. The birth of our son was obviously the highlight, but we were blessed in many ways. We can't see what 2011 brings!

Christmas 2010

All of the family was together for Christmas this year (the first time in 4 years)!

A little introduction. Back row, left to right: Jon Ostolaza (my parent's 15-year-old foreign exchange student from Spain), Scooter (2nd year MD/PhD student at the University of Kansas), my dad (ENT doctor and rock star), Brad (my new brother-in-law, Business major at BYU), Adam (you already know him, duh), Lauren (junior majoring in Communications at the U). Front row, left to right: Jessica (works in the pathology lab at University of Kansas Hospital), my mom (the hottest mama around), Rachelle (newlywed and recent BYU graduate, working as an airplane parts broker), me (duh), and E. Paul (world's cutest baby).

Eli had a blast playing with his giant Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. He is completely obsessed and shrieks with happiness every time he sees him.

I can't get over his gorgeous blue eyes. They're stunning!

The traditional Christmas Eve pj's.

Here is all of the Christmas loot. I'd be surprised if we didn't single-handedly end the U.S. recession.

We got these awesome hats to wear at football games.

Adam didn't get voted "Dreamiest Eyes" in middle school for nothing! :)

Eli looked darling in his new hat.

I don't know who loves who more, Eli or his great grandpa.

Eli loves playing "upside-down baby."

We tried letting Eli rip the paper off his presents, but he was a little confused.

Look at that face. I could just kiss it all day!

Eli looks good in his grandpa's shoes!

He's ready for Wall Street!

We have a tradition of going out to Chinese with our neighbors on Christmas day after we open presents. It's fun!

This is the face Adam frequently makes when I ask him to be in a picture. Lovely.

To end the night, we all played tennis together, while Eli sat on the sidelines wrapped in a blankie and cheered us on.

Hope your Christmas was merry and bright!

On the Lap of the Man in Red

We took Eli to sit on Santa's lap at the mall, something I've been looking forward to since I found out I was pregnant with him. I pictured him at 6 months old, all chubby and dressed in something Christmasy, sitting on Santa's knee, drooling. Eli didn't disappoint, although he didn't have much of a reaction at all. He didn't smile or cry, but just looked at him curiously and put his sweaty little hands in Santa's beard. He couldn't stop staring at him. It was so cute.

You've gotta love living in a small town where they still let you take your own photos for free instead of paying for the ridiculous "professional" ones. Nice.

I can't wait to see how Eli reacts to Santa next year. Christmas with him was so much fun!
